The Skinny Person Trapped in an Overweight Body - Drop Dead Diva

There is a new TV programme called "Drop Dead Diva" on and I happened to catch it as I was channel surfing. It is what I would call the ultimate spiritual lesson.

Deb is a young, slender, not-to-bright blond and she dies in a car accident. While in heaven, her Angel reviews her life and tells her that she is his first "0-0" client - no bad deeds but no good deeds either. She defends herself and says that she is not a bad person and he agrees with her but her "0-0" status basically makes her shallow.

She does not believe that she should be dead and before he can stop her, she pushes the button that puts her back in the "next available vessel".

So who is the next available vessel? It happens to be Jane who saved her boss by taking a bullet for him. However, Jane is the complete opposite of Deb! She is dark haired, extremely intelligent (she's a lawyer), compassionate and to Deb's ultimate horror - a size 16! Deb believes she has been sent to hell.

Deb gets to keep all of her memories from her last life and she also gets Jane's brain/intelligence, job, conservative clothes, doughnut cravings, hunger pangs and worst of all - Jane's body.

Quite often, a person learns a lesson or compassion by putting one's self in the other person's shoes. This gives one a different understanding and perspective on life. Drop Dead Diva takes this to the limit - there is the soul of a skinny girl trying to exist in an overweight person's body and world.

She has to deal with the food cravings...Deb/Jane manages to convince her friend that she has come back in Jane's body and while they are sitting around chatting, "Jane" states that she is hungry. Her friend is completely stunned by this comment because they simply "don't eat after 7 pm".

Deb/Jane must live with a whole new set of rules. People see her differently and treat her differently. This is really all about Deb's journey - becoming a better person in so many ways. She is one of the lucky one's who gets to see life from a whole new perspective. It is a major growth experience for this soul.

The episodes seem to have to do with improving self-esteem and learning to accept one's self.

I think I would consider it more of a "chick flick" type of programme but well worth watching for the unique perspectives shown.

The Obstacle In Our Path - Remember This Lesson

We all get those emails that come to us with stories that make us think. This email just came in today from my cousin and I thought the story contained something that can help us to look at our lives in a different way so I thought I would pass it on...if you think this will benefit others, feel free to send them the link to this page.

The Obstacle in Our Path

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the King's' wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road.

After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many of us never understand! Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Free Readings and Healings Web Site

Well, I have been working non-stop to create a slightly new web site (and that is why I appeared to disappear from sight for a while). I say "slightly new" because the basics of what I have been doing for the last 10 years will still be in place but I have taken a slightly different path.

I sat down and I asked myself, "what do my site visitors want?" and the answer that came to me was "free stuff". So the next question was, "what kind of free stuff do they want?" and the answer seemed pretty obvious - readings and healings...anything that has to do with the wonderful world of Metaphysics and Alternative Health Care.

So I decided to create a slightly new version of my old web site with the focus being on Free Metaphysical and Alternative Health Care services and products.

This new site is a Membership site. Members pay a monthly fee and they have access to free readings, free healings, free online courses, forums and lots of information.

Sponsors provide a free offer and in return they get free advertising through the Membership site. They hope that Members will try what they have to offer and that a connection will be made that will bring them some business.

It is also a place where those who want to practice their skills can volunteer their services.

The services that we had on the site before are still available but my focus for the next while will be on bringing Members more "free stuff". So please visit the "slightly new" site and take advantage of what we have to offer!
