Don't Let This Happen to You
So I read the joke and it made me laugh out loud for at least 15 seconds. So thanks Elaine - that WAS funny.
This is not only a joke but it is a warning...don't let this happen to you!!!
I hope I don't offend anyone - there is nothing "spiritual" about this - it's just a joke meant to make you see the funny and sometimes embarrassing side of life.
I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, I started to feel better.
I finished my pint and noticed that everybody was staring at me.
Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.
Feel free to pass this joke on...

My Inner Child is Smiling Today!
It was a challenge from the beginning. First of all, I had to travel on the bus with my huge guitar to my lessons. For an 11 year old, this was awkward. Once in a while, if my mother happened to be driving that way I was able to get a lift there but most of the time I was lugging that thing on the bus and on the walk to and from the bus stop. That was bad enough but what was really awful was that everytime I went for my lessons, I would walk by the room where some other child was being given a piano lesson. I would yearn to be in that room.
Try as I may, I was never any good at playing the guitar and it didn't matter how much I practiced. I took lessons for about 3 years and finally called it quits.
The desire to play the piano never quite went away.
Last year, I bought an digital piano. It is small enough to fit in my cramped space. I probably should not have bought it because I really could not afford it. I don't know what was going on in my mind at that time because I certainly could not afford to pay for lessons which would amount to about $100.00 a month!
I did buy some "do it yourself" piano books and played around a bit but for the most part, the piano has been a lovely dust collector.
My situation has not changed (financially) but today, I signed up for an online piano course! It is my birthday present to myself (which is tomorrow). This course will give me the flexibility that I need and hopefully enough instruction to allow me to play and fulfill my Inner Child in a way that never happened as a child.
What I really want to be able to do is to play some Christmas carols.
So, is there anything that you wanted to do as a child that you never got to do? Have you been able to fulfill that part of your Inner Child as an adult? Please leave a comment and let me know!

The Outer Limits
One of the things I like most about it is that at the end of the show, the narrator says what can often be a profound statement. For example, in today's show, his comment was something to the affect of "in a world where we are told that we can be anything that we want to be, we often have the most trouble being ourselves." Could that be more true?
We are constantly being told that we can be anything we want to be and there are thousands of opportunities to help us become what we desire whether it is from plastic surgery or taking a course.
I think the hardest thing about living in today's society is being one's self - accepting who we are as we are. It is a personal struggle I have fought all of my life. I find it extremely challenging especially because of my beliefs.
I have had to put up with so much criticism and insensitivity that I rarely even tell anyone what I do for a living. Maybe that is hypocritical but it makes my life easier in many ways.
How much of the time are you yourself? I would be interested to know that. Please leave a comment and let me know...

The "Must-Have" Book if You Are a Healer or Want To Understand Illnesses
Many illnesses can be healed by simply changing your thoughts, but what thoughts do you change for what illnesses? That is where the "Heal Your Body" book by Louise Hay comes in very handy. Louise Hay has written down the negative thoughts that cause illness and she gives an affirmation that you can use to help change those thought patterns.
EXAMPLE 1:
Years ago, my friend's 6 year old son started wetting the bed. This was a new behaviour. We looked it up in the book so that we could get some understanding of why this was happening. The spiritual cause of bedwetting is "fear of a parent, usually the father".
My friend had recently separated from her husband and he was going through a tough time adjusting to the split. Although he was in no way abusive, his attitude towards his children may have been less tolerant than before. This could have created a new state of mind for her son.
In casual conversation, she told her son that she would always protect him and that he had no reason to ever be afraid of his father. She explained why daddy might be feeling the way he was and she reinforced this discussion over the next few days. Within the week, the bedwetting stopped.
EXAMPLE 2:
Several years ago, my boss (at the time) was going through a severe cold with sore throat, cough, congestion, slight fever etc. I looked up all of the symptoms in the book and wrote him "the analysis". He was quite surprised that all of the thoughts that related to the illness were things that he was feeling or thinking. It gave him new insight into himself and confirmed much of what he had been feeling.
These are only two examples of how that book can be used. I pull the book out whenever I want further understanding of why someone is experiencing an illness.
This book is a MUST for any Healer or for those of you who want to have an understanding of why you or those you love have certain illnesses. Learn to change your thought patterns and you can change your life!
Click on the book to add it to your collection of self-help tools.

Successful Street Kid Story
At 18 years of age, she has already experienced too much life - the challenging side of life - the side that makes one grow up too soon.
I do understand how Lisa ended up living on her own at such a young age. I met and spoke to her mother a few times when she was visiting. In those few minutes, I could smell the booze on her and I noticed that she was quick to make excuses for herself and blame others for her situation. She apparently has been an alcoholic all of Lisa's life and she leans on Lisa often. She says that Lisa is the mother and she is more like the daughter. Unfortunate, but true.
Lisa moved out of the house on and off when she was only 14 years old and was permanently out by the age of 16. She told me that all of the kids (except for 1 brother) were out of the house by the age of 16. She lived in shelters and on the street.
When she was living in a shelter a very famous hairdresser came to cut the hair of those who were living there (for free) and when he found out that she was going somewhere special, he put $50 in her purse. That is a memory she will never forget and I was glad she shared it with me.
She is one smart cookie...more independent and more mature than many people I know who are in there 40's and 50's. She has youth on her side and instead of seeing life in fear, she sees it as an adventure.
She recently stopped smoking (she had been smoking since grade school) and drinking. She is eating healthy foods and jogging. She stopped seeing all of her school friends that were what she considered "bad influences". She decided that she no longer wanted to be angry or be around people or situations that made her angry or unhappy so she was starting over! What courage she has to be able to leave a dependent alcoholic mother so that she could have her own life.
As we finished our conversation, she told me that she was going to dye her hair and then she is going to get it cut short - all new beginnings. She doesn't have much but she has her belief in herself and her faith in her intuition. It feels right to her to change her life now even though all of friends are telling her how hard it will be. Her mother (the alcoholic) doesn't want her to go at all - no surprise.
In the few minutes I spoke with her, I could tell that all she wanted was to be liked and accepted like some many of us. I think she will be very successful.

Do Pendulums Really Work?
Wendy i just wanted to ask you something those pendulum's on a chain, do those really work when you ask a question. My brother said you can also take a necklace with a pendant on the end of it & hold it over the back of your hand & ask a question, it will then move back & forth for no & in a circle for yes. He said you start off with asking if the spirit guides are there. It will then either move no or yes. Does that really work? just wondering. - Gail
Thanks for your question Gail!
Pendulums do indeed work however, they will only work if they are meant to work for you. When I owned my store, we sold pendulums so I tried to use them and discovered that I could not use them at all! I was so frustrated. My sister would use them and get all kinds of answers but mine just hung there.
I had to tune-in to find out that I was being prevented from using it. I was told that I had to learn to develop my intuition and other abilities and not depend on the pendulum. To this day, I can't use one.
So, if you are allowed to use one, you will get answers from using it.
I do not suggest "just asking if your Spirit Guides are around" - that does not guarantee protection or accuracy. You should say a protection prayer and ask that all answers come from a Power Filled With Light and Love. You should also test it out quite a bit before trusting your answers.
But the bottom line is that pendulums do work if used properly. They are especially useful for health questions.

Ghost Whisperer Comes to CBC daily!
It will be on for 60 minutes at 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
If you don't know about the series, Jennifer Love Hewitt plays a antique shop owner who speaks to and can see people who have crossed over. She helps them to resolve any issue that keeps them Earthbound and helps them to cross over to the Other Side.
At times, I have found it to be a much in terms of trying to make it "scary" and it certainly lacks the basics of protection when dealing with energies but hey, it is a television show! It does show how having abilities can affect those around you and it certainly shows how challenging living can be when you have abilities - all that judgement and criticism takes it toll.
If you have seen the show, please leave a comment and let me know what you have thought of it and if you recommend it to others.

Your First Time
I look back over my years of development and there are certain things that stick out in my mind. I remember the first time I realized that I was seeing clairvoyantly. Now, I was seeing visions prior to that point but in that one second I understood what was happening. I was seeing my Spirit Guide and seeing visions and it opened my mind to many more experiences.
I remember the first time I realized and believed that I was actually hearing my Guides speak to me. I knew they were speaking to me prior to that moment but that is when it really become clear.
I remember the first time I went out of body. The feeling of freedom and of wondering what the hell was going on - lol. Floating in the air and feeling so free. Banging back into body and walking with jelly legs and getting headaches...the joys of a beginner.
So many "firsts" can happen and bring enlightenment. Share your first...
